Denim Shorts Review

Hi!  I hope you guys had a great weekend!  Ours was so nice.  I spent some time shopping with my Mom on Saturday (can’t wait to show you what I got!) and yesterday Coco and I had our tennis lessons and of course, the weekend was capped off with a huge win by Phil Mickelson.  If you didn’t know, Austin absolutely loves golf and is a HUGE fan of Phil so we were all so excited he won! My Dad arrives on Tuesday which I’m so excited about! I haven’t seen him in almost a year so I’m really looking forward to his visit.  Now that Austin and I and all of our parents are vaccinated, the relief of being able to safely see them is indescribable!

Today I wanted to review my favorite denim shorts with you!  It will be short and sweet because like many categories of my closet, I don’t have many pairs. I have found one brand that I love and have stuck with that brand for years.  I will say, for denim shorts, they are on the pricier side (in my opinion), but when I look at my cost per wear over the years, they have been WELL worth it.

I started off my love affair with the Agolde parker shorts in the vintage fit (my color is Swapmeet).  These are classic, high rise cutoffs and if you scroll through my feed over the years, you will see them a LOT (wearing in the photo below).  The Agolde shorts have no stretch (they’re 100% cotton) which as you know, is typically a hard pass for me.  But these feel loose, soft and comfy and being that they are shorts and don’t hug my legs, it’s a non issue! I loved them so much that I added the white pair to my wardrobe! I wore both pairs to death.  And let me say…these are the types of shorts that just get better with time.  I wear a size 26 for reference and prefer my cutoffs to be a tad on the looser side.

This past year, Agolde created an updated fit option to these shorts!  They are longer (5″ inseam vs. 2.75 and a longer rise) which I love but have that same, fabulous fit.  The length gives them a little bit more of a polished feel (for distressed cutoffs) and I just love them.  The long version also comes in black and white as well (have the black in my cart as we speak!).  I give these shorts a 10/10 and think they’re just the best!  One of the best things about these cutoffs is how versatile they are.  I wear them to the beach or pool as much as I wear them with a cute top and flat sandals or sneakers for dinner out.  I’m going to link them to multiple retailers below in case one spot doesn’t have your size available!  I hope this helps and as always, thank you so much for following along! xx
