Easy Summer Family Dinner

Table/ Pitcher/ Monogram Marble Tray/ Serving Bowl/ Flatware/ Serving Platter/ Plates/ Wine Glasses/ Water Glasses

We’ve been spending so much time in our backyard as I know so many of you have as well this Summer!  I love an al fresco dinner (complete with wine of course) more than anything this time of year!  It’s also nice because the kids can eat and then run around in yard while Austin and I relax and enjoy the evening.  It ALMOST feels like a date night, lol.  Today I wanted to share how easy and simple it is to throw a dinner together for the entire family and what we use to make dining outdoors as easy (and shatterproof) as possible!

This simple pasta salad recipe is a hit with the entire family and yes, we always have a baguette sliced and ready to go.  Not only is it great with our Caprese salad but the kids love to grab a slice and enjoy on the go (it’s also DELISH dipped in the leftover pasta salad dressing- just saying!). I threw it on this marble monogrammed tray which is one of the prettiest serving dishes we own!  It’s gorgeous with cheese and crackers too (and makes a great gift!). We usually add a simple green salad but this time we did a Caprese so we could use some of our fresh heirloom tomato’s from the garden (seriously who am I!?). Our Caprese is loaded with this balsamic drizzle I found on Amazon- it’s so yummy and really elevates this dish!

I keep our decor really laid back.  A simple table runner does the trick (ours is old Hearth and Hand with Magnolia and this one is really similar!).  We recently scored these melamine plates (under $5 a pop) which are so much safer with the kids around and I love our pretty water pitcher (would also be gorge with Sangria!) with matching glasses.  A woven charger makes a big difference in the “look” of your table with the added texture and we use ours way more than I thought we would!  I found several at multiple price points linked for you below.

Our biggest splurge in our outdoor dining area was our dining table.  We plan on having it for years and years and felt like it was worth the splurge given the year round opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in San Diego.  Not to mention, we fell in LOVE with the look of it.  We paired the table with these all weather wicker chairs which are very comfortable and have held up SO well over the last two years!  Have you guys been enjoying dining outdoors?  Hope you guys are doing well and as always, thank you so much for following along! xx
