Hello! We made it to the middle of the week! Why did it seem like I had a lot more time in March? Does anyone else feel this way? I’m sure part of it is the stages my kids are in right now (2 going on 3 is in my opinion one of the MOST challenging ages!) coupled with the cabin fever we’re feeling but send me all of your tips and tricks for how you’re entertaining your kids right now! I’m still eagerly awaiting our pool arrival, lol.
Today I wanted to share with you my favorite bathing suits of the Season and some of my pool day must haves! Hint- I’m including the most flattering jean shorts, under $20 sunglasses and the best selling straw hat! I’ve shared all of these on my feed over the last few months but wanted to break down WHY each of them is so great and provide sizing and fabric info as well! I’m going to break them down from left to right and will provide links below of the suits at multiple retailers to ensure you can find your size/color preference! I realize shopping for bathing suits can be daunting so I hope this helps! Also, if you’re looking for more of my Summer must haves, check out this post on shorts and this post on my favorite sandals! Let me know if you have any questions and as always, thank you so much for following along! xx
Nothing looks quite as chic at the pool or beach (or backyard!) than a black one piece. I recently discovered this one when several retailers began carrying this new to me brand. I had to know more. After some research, I discovered that this brand has been around since the 80’s and became famous after Julia Roberts wore their dress in Pretty Woman. They’re famous for their crinkle fabric which quite literally lays on top of your skin. Meaning it doesn’t dig in, is incredibly comfortable AND one size fits all. I’ll be honest, I loved this suit so much, that I bought a second one (the belted copper one below). I usually end up wearing suits for years and years so I feel like I truly get my money’s worth and this suit is a perfect example of that. They come in a TON of different styles and based on the fact that they sell out rather fast, I’m linking several for you below.
This bikini is one of my very favorites! I’m bigger busted and wasn’t sure this would “work” but the size M is perfect (I’m a large C/small D). The back has a beautiful criss cross design and I love that with this brand, you can choose from a plethora of bottom options (high waisted, low waisted, full coverage or not). Not everyone feels good in certain styles and this makes it easy to choose what works best for you and your body. I’ve been leaning into the high waisted cuts lately and have this bottom which is on the cheeky side. This brand also comes in a ton of different colors so if you have another preference, there are a lot of great colors to choose from! I wear a M in both the top and bottom. The top is not lined with pads but does have underwire.
I cannot get over how pretty this suit is! Tie dye is so on trend and similar to the bikini above, this suit comes in may different style options! I only wish you could feel how beautiful this fabric is. It literally feels like butter on your skin. I’m beyond impressed with the quality and have gotten a ton of wear out of this comfortable suit. I wear a M in the top and bottom. The top I have is lined with removable pads but does not have underwire.
Ruffle Bikini Top with High Waisted Bottoms
Remember above when I was talking about how I wear suits for years? I got this suit prior to a trip to Ojai 2 years ago and love it just as much today as I did two Summers ago. For this combo, I mixed and matched a top and bottom from two different brands/retailers. Two years ago, it wasn’t as easy to find high waisted bottoms and I just LOVED the fit of these. I found this ruffle bikini top and loved how the two paired together. I linked both in black for you but there are many color options in the top which is currently on sale and as you can see below, it can be really fun to mix and match colors. Both items have been best sellers and the feedback I’ve gotten from you guys on both pieces has been so great! For the top, I wear a M. The straps are adjustable, it is lined and it feels really supportive. I wear a M in the bottoms as well.
As chic as a black one piece is, I could really say the same for a white suit. This style comes in several colors but I loved how crisp the all white was and I had never had an all white suit. This style comes in several design options depending on your preference (high waisted, low waisted, cheeky…). Having tested this suit out, I can say that this suit is not see through which can be a problem with white suits! This would also be a great option to mix and match with a different non white bottom. The top is not lined with pads and I wear a M in both the top and bottom.
This suit! It comes in several colors and is one size fits all (same brand as the black one piece above). The belt is fitted and non-adjustable which is the only thing I wish was different. Having said that, the quality, fit and comfort are all 10/10!
