Hello! Happy Monday, guys! I hope you all had a great weekend! I cannot believe we are starting week 6 of quarantine! In a weird way, I feel like it’s flown by. We are supposed to have gorgeous weather here this week which makes all the difference for me mentally so I’m looking forward to that! Coco starts school again this week and I think some structure will be good for all of us if you know what I mean.
Today I wanted to share my skincare routine with you. I’ve had a lot of requests for this post and held off knowing some of the items would be discounted during the Sephora sale so here we are! One of my resolutions this year was to really invest in my skin. I wanted to start using more anti-aging products as I’m beginning to see some signs of aging. I have some fine lines, wrinkles and some leftover melasma spots from my pregnancy which was what I wanted my products to address. For starters, I do not use retinol or get botox because I’m still nursing Griffin. I would 1000% be using a retinol product if I wasn’t and will start right when I wean him! I think it’s the most potent and efficacious form of anti-aging that you can get (besides getting Botox).
I did a lot of my own research prior to starting my products (all besides the eye cream I’ve used religiously since January 1st). I consulted my dermatologist and read up on what would be best for my skin. Since January, I officially feel like I have an “adult” skin care routine (bye bye to the Aveeno cream I used for almost 20 years)! I’m 38 so I felt like it was time.
Incorporating serums is something new to my routine. I knew I needed a Vitamin C serum to help with protecting my skin from environmental damage and to brighten my complexion. I wanted to try this one after hearing the rave reviews but wanted a more budget friendly version for my first try at serums. I’ve found one (linked below) and have been really pleased with the results! I also wanted to incorporate Hyaluronic acid into my treatment to help with hydration, fine lines and volume and am also so pleased with what I’m using (see below)! I hope this helps guide your skincare journey and please reach out if you have any questions. As always, thank you so much for following along! xx
