My Favorite Basics

You guys know I’m ALWAYS on the hunt for basics.  They are the foundation of every single outfit (for the most part), the perfect layering essential and the comfiest pieces in your wardrobe. But why are they so hard to find!? I was doing some Spring cleaning and noticed that a lot of my t-shirts were dingy, stained (thanks kiddos) or pilling.  The truth is, I don’t like to spend a lot of money on these items because they take a beating in that I wear them CONSTANTLY and wash them weekly. Working from home and being a stay at home Mom means that cotton t-shirts and leggings are pretty much my uniform.  So when I find gems like these, I’ve got to share!  If you missed my stories yesterday or prefer to shop here on the blog, this post is for you!

Basic V- Neck T-Shirt:  I stumbled upon these t-shirts while shopping for a lace camisole and I am SO glad I did! They are buttery soft, fit loose (which is what I wanted), can easily be front tucked OR worn loose and they’re long enough that they will cover your bum.  At $18 a pop, the price isn’t bad either (they’re also 15% off right now AND will be part of LTK day if that’s your jam). I snagged white, black and grey in XXS and XS.  They run big so order one or two sizes down.

Ruffle Tank:  This is a “dressy” basic.  The fabric is beautiful and is reflected in the $38 price point.  I think this would be ideal if you are in the workplace or looking for an elevated basic to dress up any outfit.  I paired it in my stories with both jeans and a skirt.  It comes in several colors and I got an XXS (runs big so order down).

Scoop Neck Tank:  These are $10.  And in full disclosure, they feel like a $10 tank top…possibly a little nicer but I see myself wearing these with jeans or jean shorts to go out and about, leggings and with lounge wear.  My “lounge wear” if you can even call it that is a mismatched collection of Austin’s t-shirts that he no longer wears and old, gross “comfy” pants.  It is REALLY time to step up my game in this category and these tanks will be part of the rotation for sure! I ordered an XS and could have probably done a small as well.

Do you have any basics you swear by?  If so, I’d love to hear about them!  As always, thank you so much for following along! xo
