You guys. I’m really NOT trying to be dramatic when I say that it is a lot of work to prep for a vacation with kids and it’s quite possibly, even more work to get everything put back together when you get home. Having said that, we had the most wonderful time in Chicago together and I found myself enjoying being back in the Midwest much more than I thought I would.
No offense to Californian’s but there really is a level of “niceness” in the Midwest that I just don’t experience in California. People say ‘Good Morning’ on the street- perfect strangers walking by one another nod and say hello! The staff at hotels and restaurants go out of their way to start up conversation with you. People dining at tables next to you want to know where you’re from and play peek-a-boo with your kids. Austin and I both agreed that there was a sense of friendliness that we miss out West. But I digress…I’ll take the sunshine any day of the week, ha!
Can you believe it’s already AUGUST? One of my most popular posts last month (and one I’ll be doing each month moving forward), is sharing the top 5 items for the previous month via my blog and Instagram. These are the items that you guys purchased and ‘liked’ the most at Kara Loves Coco! It will come as no surprise that most of these items were from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as you guys seemed just as pumped about it as I was! It’s also worth mentioning that the sale ends on the 6th so if you’ve been waiting to get anything, now is the time! So let’s get started:
1.) White BodySuit: You’ve seen this bodysuit styled multiple times recently! I just love the clean, square neckline and am contemplating purchasing the black one for Fall. It runs a tad small if you’re on the larger busted size. I’m wearing a small but could probably easily wear the Medium. This is a great layering piece to have on hand in your wardrobe and will look great under cardigans, vests and jackets come Fall.
2.) Bathing Suit: It’s no surprise that this bathing suit was also one of the most purchased items through my blog and Instagram for the second month in a row. The two pieces don’t technically go together but they seem to work together so well. I got the navy bottoms (they also come in black) and think the top in white, navy, pink and red would be darling. Together the combo not only works, but is flattering for many different body types and bust sizes. A few of the top colors are on sale right now too!
3.) Tan Top (on sale!): This top will also be great on its own or layered under a moto jacket or cardigan. The fabric is so soft and I love how sleek it looks simply tucked into jeans. This is my ideal type of outfit for a date night!
4.) Hanky Panky Undies (on sale!): You guys stocked up on the sale! These underwear are on the pricier side so it’s great to take advantage of the lower price point! And if you read this post on underwear, you know these are my absolute favorite thongs.
5.) Nike Sports Bra (on sale!): This is ideal for lower impact unless you are smaller busted. As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, I wear mine during the day as the v-neck makes it easy to nurse in.
