Life Update and Gift Guide for the Home

I’m so excited to finally share with you guys that we’re MOVING! Literally a block away from our current home but holy cow, we’re doing it.

It is official as we closed on our new home last week.  EEEEEKKKK!!!! I’m so excited it’s not even funny.  They say that moving and the birth of a child can be two of the most stressful events in a lifetime so obviously Austin and I wanted to exceed in this by doing both at the same time.  Makes sense, right?

To be honest, we had been casually “looking” for about 8 months before we found the right home for us and I just knew in my gut that we would have Griffin and then find the house.  And that is exactly what happened.  I have to say, it was not NEARLY as stressful as it could have been thanks to all of the people involved!  We plan on enjoying the Holidays in our current home and will pack up and move afterwards.  As much as I’m thrilled for this new adventure, I’ll be so sad to leave the home we’ve loved so much (and still love).  I swear, if it was just a tad bigger, we wouldn’t be moving.  It was our first home as a married couple and the home that we’ve had our two babies in so it will always have a special place in my heart. But we’ve doubled in family size since we first moved in and as Austin says, “the walls are closing in.”  Not dramatic at all.

Having said that, if I’m a little spotty with my blogging activity in the next few months, just know that it’s a shit show over here but I wouldn’t have it any other way! It seems appropriate to share my gift guide for The Home on the heels of our news so here are my favorite items to gift for the Holiday Season!

I live for my Nespresso machine but I’m thinking that we may need to upgrade to this model.  That way, Austin can have his cup of Joe and I can make my latte and we won’t have a Nespresso AND a Keurig machine out.  I WILL have this print in my next home.  If you know me at all, you know that it couldn’t be more perfect.  Khloe Kardashian has this leopard print blanket so it must be good because her home is GOALS.  Just search it via Pinterest. I realize a salt and pepper mill are random but my Mom has them and they’re so pretty on her counter top and definitely made my Christmas list this year!  I don’t cook but I can salt and pepper my carry out. Our next home will have a guest bedroom (hooray!) so I’m dreaming of this on the night stand for our visitors!  And a home gift guide wouldn’t be complete without a fancy coffee table book.  Elements of Style is my favorite to gift because the content is wonderful and the black and white compliments any color scheme in a home!  Happy shopping and as always, thanks for following along! xo
