Happy Monday, everyone! Did you guys have a good weekend? It’s pretty hectic with the Holidays right around the corner, isn’t it? I would really like to finish my Holiday shopping this week if possible! I always say this and that I’m just going to relax for the week leading up to Christmas…however, this never happens and I always seem to be scrambling for last minute things!
My Dad is coming into town to visit from Michigan so I fully plan on taking advantage of the fact that I have a live in sitter for a week and knocking some things off of my to-do list! This time of year is so fun because every activity seems so festive surrounding the Holidays! Although we have an artificial tree (I bought a new flocked one this year- finally!), one of my favorite traditions in December is going to the Christmas tree farm and picking out a tree with Austin’s family. A real tree isn’t for me but I absolutely love this outing and look forward to it every year.
It was chilly out and we went in the evening, just as it started to get dark. Coco loved running up and down the tree aisles playing hide and seek in the twinkling lights and can we talk about that fresh pine smell (which I replicate at home with this candle!) and how cheerful everyone was as they picked out their tree!? I obviously felt like I had to ‘dress the part’ per say and wear something a little festive. So I took a bunch of basics: jeans, a classic striped top and a plaid scarf and threw them all together to create one of my favorite (and most comfortable) outfits of the Season. I originally had this faux fur vest on with it but Austin made me feel like a fur vest at the Christmas tree farm was taking it too far- a little too glam for the occasion. In retrospect, when have I ever been concerned about being overdressed? I wore OTK boots for goodness sake! Either way, this would be a great outfit for any casual Holiday occasion…Christmas dinner comes to mind for me where I may swap the boots for some comfy leopard print flats like these. And one that could easily be replicated with things you likely have in your closet! Happy Holidays and as always, thank you so much for following along. xo
