I hope you had a fabulous weekend! This week was full of events because it was Fashion Week in San Diego. I was given a press pass for the weekend and each event was spectacular. I loved supporting local and emerging designers and the talent and designs were fantastic. Art was also incorporated into each event, including this piece below by my absolute favorite local artist, Shane Bowden. The first piece of art Austin and I purchased together as a couple was by this artist! It’s a painting of a bottle of Chanel perfume that we purchased at his gallery in Hawaii. Little did we know at the time that we were pregnant with our daughter, Colette, who we now call Coco so it is very special to us. If you’re ever in the area, you must check out his gallery! The shows were located in the heart of the beautiful city of La Jolla so imagine a runway with a backdrop of sunsets, palm trees and the Pacific Ocean…not too shabby, right? The highlight for me, as seen in my Instagram pics, was meeting other bloggers and stylists. With it being my first Fashion Week, I felt shy and a tad uncomfortable being solo at the events! I feel like this whole operation I have going on here is still in the grass-roots stages and there is so.much.i.want.to.do that I often feel a little overwhelmed in a really good way. Last night however, I met approachable, kind, like minded women who talked to me, gave me their business cards and overall made me feel like I wasn’t alone in this new industry. I have to say, I really appreciated it and walked away feeling inspired and lucky to be surrounded by a network of hardworking, kick-ass women. Have a great week and thank you for following along!
