Secrets of a Shopaholic

Everyone decompresses from life in their own unique ways and for me, it’s shopping. I get a lot of questions about where I shop so I thought I would share my method to my madness with you. First things first! I rarely buy things full price and if you’ve followed along for a while you’ll see me sporting everything from Hermes to Old Navy and many times you’ll see those two brands within the same outfit. My favorite store is Nordstrom for several reasons: 1) I like their clothing, their departments and the multiple price points for on trend pieces. 2) FREE SHIPPING 3) Excellent customer service 4) Their return policy is the bomb. I download the app and check their sales DAILY. Yes, I know this is crazy tedious but you would too if you found some of the things I have found on their website! I tend to do a major stock up twice per year during their Anniversary Sale and their Half Yearly Sale. This is when I purchase things like jeans, gym shoes and undergarments. It makes no sense to buy them at any other time since the prices are so great. I also LOVE Nordstrom Rack and found these beautiful Manolo’s there over the weekend for an INSANLY low price- like I said, shop the sales- these were an additional 25% off of the already very low price because of the half yearly sale. Shopping at stores like Nordstrom Rack and TJ MAXX is therapy to me- there is something about the thrill of the hunt and not knowing what you may find that is reeeealllllyyy exciting and gets me all sorts of pumped up.

Tips for shopping at these stores include the following:

1. Have patience. Give yourself some time because there is a lot of merchandise to go through!

2. Bring a bottle of water and a snack. Nobody likes a hangry shopper and you need fuel to get through those racks. Trust.

3. I suggest heading to the clearance rack with your size first and going through each item before heading to the other merchandise. Everything I purchased at Nordstrom Rack this weekend was on the clearance rack and I scored big time. The same holds true for TJ’s!

4. Have a general idea of what you’re wardrobe gaps are. I was in the market for a new pair of black pumps. I had a pair of Steve Madden black pumps that took me through countless weddings and nights on the town in both Chicago and San Diego. They were six years old and worn down so when I saw both of these shoes below, I was happy to pounce! Here are some of my other favorites- remember buy on sale! Where is your favorite place to shop? As always, thank you so much for reading!
